Day 2: ATHENS
Welcome
to Athens, the ancient center
of Hellenistic civilization.
Upon arrival, our staff will
help you to your hotel. The
day is yours to relax and
explore on your own. D
DAY 3: ATHENS / CORINTH /
MYCENAE / EPIDAURUS / NAUPLIA
In the
morning, leave by the coastal
road along the Saronic Gulf
for a quick stop at the 19th
century Corinth Canal.
Proceed to Mycenae - the city
of the ancient poets - to
visit Lions Gate, the
Cyclopean Walls, and the
beehive Royal Tombs. Depart
for Nauplia through the
fertile plain of Argolis, a
picturesque town nestled at
the foot of a cliff and
crowned by the mighty
ramparts of the Palamidi
Fortress. In the afternoon,
visit the Epidaurus Theater
(4th century B.C.)
famous for its astonishing
acoustics and still used for
summer festivals. Return
through rich, green pine
forests to your hotel in
Nauplia. BD
DAY 4: NAUPLIA / TRIPOLIS /
MEGALOPOLIS / OLYMPIA
Drive
in the morning through the
Central Peloponese, Arcadia -
the home of Pan and the
Nymphs - and the towns of
Tripolis and Megalopolis, to
Olympia, home of the Olympic
Games. Visit the sanctuary of
the Olympian Zeus and the
museum containing the famous
Hermes of Praxiteles. BD
DAY 5: OLYMPIA / PATRAS /
DELPHI
Traveling
northward from Olympia, you
will come upon the quaint
harbor city of Patras. Admire
the attractive neoclassical
buildings and the hilltop
castle ruins. Afterwards,
take a ferry to the city of
Antirion, in the Strerea
Ellada region. Stop at the
seaside areas of Erantini or
Itea for swimming and
optional lunch. In the
afternoon arrive at Delphi,
the center of the Ancient
World - the
"Omphalos" (Navel)
of the Earth. Visit the
Castalian Springs and the
Sanctuary of Athena Pronaia. BD
DAY 6,
OPTION 1: DELPHI / ATHENS
In
the morning, visit the
ruins of the temple of
Apollo Pythios and the
museum. Then drive
through the village of
Arachova, renowned for
its colorful rugs and
carpets, and then visit
the Byzantine Monastery
of Ossios Loukas on the
slopes of Mount Helicon.
See the beautiful mosaics
on a gold background.
Return to Athens via
Levadia and Thebes. BD
DAY 7,
OPTION 1: ATHENS
In the morning, our
expert guide will take
you on an exciting,
comprehensive tour of the
city, including the
famous Acropolis. The
afternoon is yours to
spend as you please. BD

OPTION 1: ATHENS
This
morning, our staff will
take you to the airport

KALAMBAKA
In
the morning, visit the
ruins of the temple of
Apollo Pythios and the
museum. In the afternoon,
depart to Kalambaka
through numerous
picturesque villages. BD
DAY 7,
OPTION 2: DELPHI /
METEORA / ATHENS
In
the morning, visit the
famous Meteora Cloisters
monasteries, which cap
the towering rock
stalagmites rising from
the valley floor to defy
gravity and the
imagination. Five of
these monasteries are
still inhabited today.
Return to Athens early in
the evening. BD
